Approximately 66,000 miles of
electric distribution power lines supply a better way of life to more than 160,000 services
from 27 member-controlled electric cooperatives, across the state of Kansas.
Building and maintaining these power
lines is the responsibility of your local electric cooperative and their dedicated
employees.
Electric
cooperatives of Kansas are represented by a statewide organization called Kansas
Electric Cooperatives, of Topeka. Nationally, each electric co-op
belongs to the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, in
Arlington, Virgina.
