The rate includes three components:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A monthly service availability charge of $39<\/li>\n<li>An energy charge of 9.3469 cents per kWh<\/li>\n<li>An on-peak demand charge of $6 per kW<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For each summer month, the peak charge of $6 per kW will be calculated by examining the consumer-member\u2019s hourly usage between 3 and 8 p.m. on Peak Days, which Heartland declares on days that we think have a chance of being the highest usage for the month for the entire KEPCo system. Whichever one-hour increment has the highest usage will be used to calculate the peak charge.<\/p>\n<p>Members on the Small Commercial rate can save money on their bills by reducing their demand between 3 and 8 p.m. on Peak Days.<\/p>\n<p>While peak charges are determined in June-September, there is a &#8220;ratchet&#8221; component that applies in the remaining months. The rate includes four components:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A monthly service availability charge of $90<\/li>\n<li>An energy charge of 5.6665 cents per kWh<\/li>\n<li>A coincident peak (CP) demand charge of $14.66 per kW used during the monthly peak demand on the entire KEPCo system<\/li>\n<li>A non-coincident peak (NCP) demand charge of $8.50 per kW used during the individual service&#8217;s monthly peak<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While peak charges are determined in June-September, there is a &#8220;ratchet&#8221; component that applies in the remaining months.
